I have some of the Jon Renau easihair detangling spray. What's puzzling me is that directions say to spray the hair and then comb through with a wide tooth comb. I thought that you were not supposed to comb through synthetic wigs when they are wet. Can someone explain to me why it's ok to spray this detangler on the wig, which makes it wet, and then comb through it?

I've been spraying it, letting it dry and then combing through.

I have wondered the same thing! Do you think the warning is more combing through the entire freshly shampood wig versus just the ends with the detangler coating on it? I also wonder about using steam to revitalize, which is both wet & hot. So much to learn.

Yes, I wish someone who knows would answer this question for me so that I can properly care for my wigs.

When you use detangling spray it shouldn’t be applied with a heavy hand. Lightly spray to dampen the hair, then beginning from the end, gently comb with a wide toothed comb. Once the ends are detangled, keep going until you can comb through the length. The purpose of the detangler spray is to lubricate the fibers to cut down on fraying. Plain water on a saturated wig is totally different. Hope this helps.
